Job summary

Newell Brands is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to monitor, set up, and run molding equipment. The role requires following TPM tasks, keeping 6S standards, and ensuring a safe, compliant production environment.

High school diploma or equivalent and a forklift license are required; plastics manufacturing experience is preferred. The position is based in Wisconsin on-site with standard safety protocols and training opportunities.

  • Operate machines, monitor safety switches, start/stop cycles.
  • Record machine performance rates and TPM tasks.
  • Maintain 6S, clean work area and equipment.
  • Comply with GMP and safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend corporate training/meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY: Monitor, troubleshoot, setup, changeover, and startup, and shutdown specific manufacturing equipment including automation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately perform machine / mold set-up and shutdown duties for molding operations.
  • Assist with sample/validation runs on new and revised products.
  • Document machine and automation settings to include; mold setup and program changes as defined by written instructions.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve machine or automation malfunctions, quality, and in-process issues.
  • Machine operation including controls, safety switches, restarts/start-ups, and shutdowns.
  • Monitor and record machine performance rates.
  • Complete required Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks as assigned.
  • Keep a clean work area, machines / equipment and sustain 6S principles.
  • Adhere to and comply with all written GMP/Safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in PEAK initiatives as directed.
  • Perform routine safety checks on equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Attend required corporate training/meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • All job functions to be completed in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, company guidelines and policies.

REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete and pass required medical screening.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid forklift license.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in the plastics manufacturing industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Intermediate math and reading
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Procedure comprehension
  • Must be dependable and take ownership of the assigned work area.
  • Ability to adapt to changing manufacturing priorities, including overtime schedules
  • Ability to achieve and consistently perform at required manufacturing rates
  • Advanced molding processing knowledge
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering diagrams
  • Ability to work independently

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk up to 90% of the shift.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to frequently carry (up to 30 feet each time) up to 25 pounds.
  • Have full range of motion of the waist and neck.
  • Must be able to frequently bend (to the floor), twist, climb, kneel and have unrestricted use of upper extremities and perform over-head reaching.
  • Push/Pull up to 200 pounds.
