In our continued transformation from a real estate company to a customer experience company, we are seeking an Maintenance Technician. This position will report directly to the Facilities Manager and is based at our Columbus, OH center, working with the management team, vendors, tenants, and shoppers.

As Maintenance Technician, you contribute to the efficient and effective operations of the facility. You ensure a clean, well-run, and well-maintained facility that contributes to making Tanger a First Choice destination and best-in-class shopping experience.

You take a proactive, hands-on approach to performing operations and maintenance tasks, identifying potential problem areas, offering solutions, and taking action with appropriate approval.

How can you contribute?

• Maintain all common areas to Tanger standards, including sidewalks, loading docks, dumpsters, parking areas, and restrooms.
• Identify potential problem areas, offer solutions, and take action with approval.
• Understand and maintain all systems (lighting controls, electrical, irrigation, fire suppression, alarms) and train staff accordingly.
• Change HVAC filters quarterly.
• Complete annual common area painting projects.
• Perform monthly roof inspections, power washing, and daily trash services.
• Perform snow removal when snow is less than 3 inches.
• Change light bulbs and ballasts, perform inspections, and document results.
• Complete preventative maintenance checklists.
• Update tenant directories and signage.
• Clean digital directory filters quarterly and replace as needed.
• Assist store management with facility issues under the guidance of the Facilities Manager.
• Work safely, adhering to safety practices, and report hazards immediately.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and participate in OSHA programs.
• Inspect and maintain sidewalks, restrooms, and all facility equipment.
• Return tools and supplies properly after each shift.
• Promote a positive attitude reflecting Tanger’s values.
• Follow property rules and perform additional duties as assigned.

About You:

• You are comfortable with painting, roof inspections, sidewalk inspections, snow removal, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, restroom inspections, and power washing.
• You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, thriving in a team environment.
• You are knowledgeable about property and equipment maintenance, safety, and janitorial duties.
• You can interpret logs and reports, maintain detailed records, and make critical decisions responsibly.
• You enjoy outdoor work and are comfortable in various weather conditions.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and quick to learn Tanger systems.
• You are flexible with your schedule, including holidays.
• You have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent.
