Job summary

Capitol Companies is seeking a dependable, service-oriented Maintenance Technician / Assistant Building Engineer to support maintenance, repair, and day-to-day operation of a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties in Northern Virginia.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, safety-conscious, and able to diagnose and resolve a broad range of building maintenance issues, with the ability to travel between properties and respond to service requests as needed.

Qualifications

• At least one year of building maintenance or related experience.
• Familiarity with building automation or PLCs is preferred.
• Trade certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing are required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Strong organization and safety-minded approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance across assigned properties.
• Repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and minor building systems.
• Respond to tenant requests promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate with vendors and track work orders.
• Maintain records of maintenance and inventory.
