Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking a Reliability Tech B to maintain and optimize production equipment in a safety‑driven environment. This mid‑level role emphasizes reducing downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting product quality through hands‑on maintenance and problem solving.

You will work with a team to execute PM, PdM, and CBM activities, documenting work in CMMS and mentoring junior technicians. This role requires strong mechanical skills and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Strong background in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
• Proven mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Comprehensive safety knowledge: LOTO, confined space, PPE, hot work, PIT, fall protection, hoisting and rigging.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on a wide range of industrial equipment.
• Maintain mechanical systems including bearings, shafts, pulleys, belts, chains, motors, and gearboxes.
• Service conveyance systems, piping, and utilities (steam, air, water).
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues impacting safety, quality, and production efficiency.
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures and understand related electrical interactions.
• Communicate findings and corrective actions to maintenance and operations teams.
• Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, and component replacements (PM).
• Use condition-monitoring tools to identify early signs of equipment failure (PdM).
• Contribute to CBM by addressing issues identified through PM and PdM.
• Complete work orders supporting plant initiatives, upgrades, and reliability improvements.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure effective execution of work.
• Mentor entry-level technicians and collaborate with senior technicians on complex tasks.
