Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, saws, molders, spoolers, strippers, and cut strip machines. Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble, disassembles machines, repairs or replaces broken parts, and adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary. Cleans and lubricates parts, inspects completed repairs, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Requisitions new parts and equipment.

Schedule

3rd Shift, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 pm to 6:30 am

Primary Responsibilities

1. Manage Preventative Maintenance program, including documentation for quality assurance.
2. Communicate and cooperate with all Techs regarding equipment issues.
3. Train operators on daily maintenance tasks.
4. Manage Tool Calibration program, including documentation.
5. Observe all safety requirements, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out.
6. Make repairs to original equipment specifications, consulting with manufacturers when necessary.
7. Repair building equipment such as fans, overhead doors, docks/locks, etc.
8. Monitor mechanical devices in operation to identify issues.
9. Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
10. Examine parts for imperfections and measure to ensure specifications.
11. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
12. Repair or replace defective parts, install functional and structural parts, and test device performance.
13. Initiate purchase orders for parts and machinery.
14. Adapt quickly to fix critical issues to keep operations running.
15. Resolve routine questions and problems, escalating complex issues as needed.
16. Work under minimal supervision, maintaining communication with management.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent, with 3 years of experience in machine maintenance and 2 years in a production/manufacturing environment. Basic repair skills with proficiency in MS Office, ability to operate equipment safely, stand for long hours, and work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
