Job Description

Scope of Job: This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems. Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. Performs equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Logs equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system. Follows all safety procedures. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as conveyor systems and production equipment, following operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment downtime and implements countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
• Trains operators and other mechanics on proper procedures as needed.
• Attends scheduled training classes.
• Complies with company and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains bearings, seals, lubrication, mechanical drives (belt, chain, gear, shafts, couplings, shaft alignment), mechanical timing, pneumatic systems, and reads equipment diagrams and schematics.
• Troubleshoots PLC/Controls, with working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers, especially Allen Bradley devices.
• Performs electrical troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with formal training in air conditioning, welding, machining, auto repair, electronics, or industrial mechanics. Additional experience may substitute for training. Experience in high-speed packaging or similar manufacturing environments is preferred.
