Summary
As a member of the Martin's family, the Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricate and clean parts.
- Test device performance after repairs.
- Set up and operate tools like drill presses and grinders to make and repair parts.
- Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines.
- Repair electrical equipment and weld stainless and aluminum.
- Check and repair pumps, fans, valves, and motors.
- Adjust, repair, and replace electrical and electronic pneumatic relays.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Operate handsaws, drill presses, and electric drills.
- Maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use tools carefully.
- Work flexible hours to meet deadlines.
- Communicate with supervisors about task status and issues.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and adhere to safety and GMP regulations.
- Report safety, food safety, and quality issues.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Perform minor plumbing tasks and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Maintain knowledge of inspection manuals and test equipment performance.
- Responsible for loss or damage of tools and materials.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three to five years related experience
Skills
- Ability to read and understand instructions, memos, and communicate effectively.
- Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving walking, handling, reaching, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at heights.
- Work environment includes exposure to humid conditions, moving parts, fumes, chemicals, and loud noise.
