As a member of the Martin's Family, the Sanitation Laborer is responsible for maintaining the food-safe quality of our products by following standard operating procedures to exceed industry and federal cleaning and sanitizing requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, continuously learning about federally mandated standards, and is innovative, efficient, and effective in cleaning and sanitizing processes. This individual works diligently to promote teamwork through open communication channels with sanitation, production, and maintenance departments.

Pay Rate
  • $21.72/hour -- Paid Weekly!
  • $3.00/hour shift differential (required to work 4+ consecutive hours between 3pm-7am)

Schedule
  • 9pm - 5:30am on their designated rotation.
  • Scheduled overtime may be required during certain times of the year.
  • Work days and times are subject to change based on business needs, including working on Sundays, days off, and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a culture of exceeding quality expectations through cleaning and sanitizing the interior and exterior of the facility.
  • Follow the master cleaning schedule to ensure the plant is audit-ready at all times.
  • Use pre-mixed chemical cleaning agents to clean, sanitize, and return the facility to operation.
  • Clean lint, dust, oil, grease, and debris from machines, overhead pipes, screens, and filters.
  • Operate pressure washers, rack washers, floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, and forklifts according to specifications.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment to ensure readiness for production.
  • Transport waste to disposal areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness outside the facility, including silos, entrances, dock doors, and sewage treatment.
  • Adhere to safety, food safety, quality, and GMP standards, wearing PPE as required.
  • Apply lockout/tagout procedures for equipment safety.
  • Seek continuous improvement and apply feedback to enhance performance.
  • Report safety, food safety, and quality issues promptly.

Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in bakery or manufacturing industries
  • Experience operating boom and scissor lifts
Physical Demands

Must be able to use hands, reach, talk, hear, smell, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
