Job summary

The Marzetti Company in Kentucky is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (Friday through Sunday, 5:00 pm to 5:00 am) to support plant machinery, grounds, buildings and equipment. This entry-level role operates under minimal supervision and focuses on safety, preventive maintenance and reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and with a team with minimal supervision.
• Must obtain industrial truck/lift certification and maintain OSHA standards.
• Clear communication with team members, management, customers & vendors.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation and basic math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret written/verbal directions in a fast-paced setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Industrial Maintenance degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plant machinery, equipment and buildings.
• Evaluate problems and perform repairs and overhauls as needed.
• Install new equipment or relocate existing machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document results.
• Operate TIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel as required.
• Comply with safety, quality and HAACP requirements; follow GMP standards.
