Job summary

The Marzetti Company manufactures and sells specialty food products. This maintenance technician position supports plant machinery, buildings, and equipment, performing repairs under direct supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will perform lubrication, belt changes, part replacements, and preflight checks, while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Day-to-day duties include paperwork, training, and equipment readiness across packaging lines.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude, basic math skills and ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools are required.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Completes all daily paperwork and walk-through items and knows their importance.
• May be required to go to different shifts for training or give training.
• Provides maintenance support required to sustain continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment.
• Performs Daily Preflight of any Production Line
• Lubricates all machinery with the correct lubricants.
• Changes drive belts, timing belts and other parts on all machinery.
• Identify problems before they result in a hazard or downtime situation.
• Changes filters and oils in plant equipment.
• Maintains refrigeration compressor and pump oils.
• Identifies and replaces bearings and seals as required.
• Maintains company standards for cleanliness, inspect all HVAC units in our plant, safety and productivity in the plant area.
• Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
• Restarts the Lantech stretch wrapper machine.
• Welds with a stick welder on mild steel & have ability to use other types of welders with various metals.
• Change out and clean & inspect all of the HVAC units in our plant.
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical problems on lift trucks.
• Must be able to read PID drawings.
• Able to operate a forklift/ pallet jack/ boom lift and scissor lift
• Must be able to PM/set-up and troubleshoot an egg pump
• Able to put a freezer tunnel in defrost and back to normal operation
• Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management
