Job summary

Spring Valley, a leading fertilizers and ice melter manufacturer in Jackson, WI, seeks a maintenance technician for 2nd shift. You will collaborate with leadership and safety teams to keep operations running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on engines and production equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, fabricating repair parts, and coordinating external repairs. A strong emphasis on safety, attendance, and accuracy supports our diverse manufacturing sites

Ability to work under pressure and prioritize maintenance needs.
Problem solving and organization skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Basic computer knowledge.
Experience or knowledge in blueprint reading, schematics, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, engines, and heavy equipment maintenance.
Ability to lift over 50lbs and work at heights up to 90 feet.
Reliable transportation and pass a post-offer drug screen.
Excellent attendance and punctuality.

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, hydraulics, conveyors and production machines.
Troubleshoot malfunctions by observing equipment in operation.
Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories; place and expedite orders.
Schedule and coordinate outside companies to perform repairs as needed.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.

Job Overview

Collaborate with Plant Manager, Maintenance Technicians & Safety Coordinator to ensure maintenance and safety related matters are resolved in a timely manner.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, hydraulics, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines such as hoppers, screeners, mixing machines, bag sealers, and scales.
Troubleshooting malfunctions by observing mechanical devices in operation
Fabricating repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Schedule and coordinate outside companies to perform repairs as needed
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Pay & Benefits

Hourly pay based on experience
Additional $1.00 per hour shift premium for working 2nd shift
Production efficiency bonuses

After 120 day introductory period - vacation time. 80 hours of vacation time is awarded for 1 year of service. Vacation time will be prorated for the remainder of 2026 after introductory period.

Comfortable using ladders and working at heights up to 90 feet
Have reliable transportation to get to and from work
Ability to pass a post-offer drug screening
Outstanding attendance and punctuality
Ability to wear PPE including but not limited to safety toe boots, safety glasses, harnesses, and dust mask or respirator.
