Job Title: Maintenance Technician – 1^st shift

Location: New Berlin, Wisconsin

Note: For this position, sponsorship would not be available now or in the future.

Shift Details: 1st Shift is 5:00am - 1:00pm CT

Description

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, buildings, and facilities. This role requires a broad knowledge of maintenance skills, including mechanical repair, plumbing, welding, carpentry, fabrication, and basic electrical repair.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list is not exhaustive and may be expanded as needed:

1. Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services.
2. Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
3. Make repairs or adjustments to ensure continuous production.
4. Rebuild machines and overhaul components, including dismantling, inspection, machining, or replacing parts.
5. Perform skilled operations such as filing, aligning bearings, shafts, and adjusting mechanisms.
6. Install and relocate machinery, involving dismantling, leveling, fitting, and aligning.
7. Perform maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds.
8. Assist in determining project requirements and scope.
9. Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC units.
10. Maintain maintenance logs and documentation.
11. Ensure safety procedures and housekeeping standards are followed.

Education and Experience

• Broad knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance.
• High school diploma and 5-7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Experience in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, buildings, and facilities.
• PLC knowledge is highly desirable and often required.
