Base pay range

$39.00/hr - $42.00/hr

Titile : Maintenance Technician – Direct Hire

Location: 7350 South 10th Street, Oak Creek, WI 53154

Schedule: 1st Shift (6:30am–3:00pm), 2nd Shift (2:30pm–11:00pm), 3rd Shift (10:30pm–7:00am)

Hourly Rate: $39.00–$42.00/hr + Shift Premiums / 2nd Shift: +$1.50/hr/ 3rd Shift: +$3.00/hr

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician will support the operations of a new, state-of-the-art baking facility by ensuring all production and packaging equipment runs efficiently. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.

We’re looking for hands-on problem-solvers who thrive in a collaborative team environment and are eager to mentor others while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, SQF, and internal safety standards
• Use CMMS to manage work orders and track maintenance activities
• Support root cause failure analysis and improve equipment reliability

Daily Duties

• Inspect, diagnose, and resolve equipment issues (motors, gearboxes, conveyors, refrigeration, PLC systems)
• Document repairs and adjustments
• Assist production teams during changeovers and setups
• Lubricate and align mechanical systems
• Maintain tools and spare parts inventory
• Attend daily team huddles and communicate equipment status

Occasional Duties

• Participate in Kaizen and other continuous improvement events
• Assist in commissioning new equipment
• Contribute to energy-saving and waste-reduction projects
• Help create maintenance SOPs
• Support cross-functional project teams
• Mentor and train junior staff and new hires

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Expertise

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food or packaging preferred)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (gears, pumps, compressors, pneumatics)
• Electrical troubleshooting (AC/DC motors, VFDs, power distribution, PLCs)
• Automation familiarity (robotics, sensors, Siemens or Allen Bradley PLCs)
• Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators

Preferred Experience

• TPM, RCM, RCFA, and PMO methodologies
• Root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
• Technical certifications or associate degree in a related field
• Microsoft Office Suite and strong math skills

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Effective team player with coaching/mentoring experience
• Ability to adapt to change and support a culture of continuous improvement
• Proficient in English (verbal and written); Spanish bilingual is a plus

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• 9-hour shifts; occasional weekend coverage if needed
• Work includes both office and plant floor environments
• Physical requirements: sitting, climbing, kneeling, lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Exposure to heat, cold, confined spaces, noise, grease, oils, dust, and industrial equipment hazards
