Job summary

Des Moines Sheraton in West Des Moines, IA seeks a Full Time Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms, services and public areas, and respond to work orders to keep the property running smoothly. You will troubleshoot electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and pool systems, manage landscaping seasonally, and operate tools.

Minimum 6 months general maintenance experience required; certification a plus.

• Hotel maintenance experience preferred
• HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certification a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, including guest room care
• Complete and document guest and associate work orders
• Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
• Maintain, clean, and adjust pool systems and chemicals
• Repair furniture, fixtures, and hotel equipment such as laundry, kitchen, and small appliances
• Perform seasonal landscaping, groundskeeping, and trash removal duties
• Operate and maintain hand tools and power equipment

Job Description

What You Will Do:

What We Are Looking For:

• Minimum 6 months of general maintenance experience required; hotel maintenance experience preferred
• Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to bend, squat, walk, and stand for extended periods
• HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certification a plus
