Job summary

Bellingham at West Chester is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for upkeep of residential apartments and public areas on campus, performing routine and emergency repairs with general maintenance skills.

The role requires ability to work under general supervision, communicate effectively with residents and staff, and participate in on-call rotations. Starting pay is $21.00 per hour, with full-time hours and a benefits package including 401k, health and dental insurance.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of residential building maintenance incl. plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances.
• Effective communication with residents and staff.
• Ability to work under general supervision and handle on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and public areas; correct electrical malfunctions and repair plumbing fixtures, pipes and fittings; replace light bulbs and fixtures; repair doors and locks.
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
• Complete work orders promptly with detailed task and equipment information.
• Assist other Maintenance and HVAC personnel on campus projects or repairs, including snow removal.
• Maintain proper levels of materials and supplies for timely task completion.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards during maintenance tasks.

The Bellingham at West Chester is recruiting for Maintenance Technician. In this role you will be responsible and accountable for the overall upkeep of residential apartments and public areas through responsive, accurate and efficient maintenance. This will be accomplished through the performance of simple tasks that require the application of general maintenance and repair techniques, materials, tools, and equipment. The Maintenance Tech serves as a member of the Maintenance team that is responsible for the physical condition of all buildings on campus.

Salary: Starting at $21.00 per hour

Schedule: Full-time opportunity including rotating on call hours

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician:

• Performs routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and public areas including correcting electrical malfunctions, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures, pipes, and fittings, repairing and replacing light bulbs and fixtures, repairing doors and locks, etc.
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
• Completes all work orders in a timely manner while providing detailed information regarding the task(s) performed along with all prescribed/pertinent equipment information.
• Will assist other Maintenance and HVAC personnel, when necessary, in the completion of various projects or repairs including campus snow removal.
• Assists in maintaining proper levels of materials and supplies for the campus to ensure the timely and efficient completion of necessary tasks.
• Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
• Working knowledge of residential building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances.
• Effectively communicate with residents and staff.
• Function under general supervision.
• Ability to effectively work with residents and staff.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older and have a minimum education of High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience preferred.
