Job summary

Bellingham at West Chester is recruiting a hospitality focused Medication Technician to join our team and provide compassionate care to residents in a warm, supportive environment. Starting salary is $22.00 per hour with a Full Time 3pm–11pm shift.

Qualifications

• Must have completed State approved Medicine Aide Course and, when applicable, continuing education.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Medication Tech Certification with testing/observation hours required; High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Administer medications, carry out treatments, and document results as instructed.
• Report and record observations and results of treatments, tests and procedures.
• Transfer, transport, and escort residents as needed.
• Respond promptly to signal lights and requests from residents.
• Keep rooms clean, linens changed, and beds made.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Medication Technician:

• Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Gives treatments, performs tests, carry-out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
• Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
• Transfers, transports, and escorts residents as needed.
• Answers signal lights promptly.
• Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly.
• Safely prepares, administers, and charts oral, topical, and suppository drugs.
• Checks and prepares each dose immediately preceding administration.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• Successful completion of the State approved Medicine Aide Course, and when applicable, the continuing education course.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given.
• Medication Tech Certification with testing/observation hours required.
• High School Diploma or GED
