Job summary

McKnight Place Assisted Living and Memory Care is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee day-to-day upkeep of the community. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to service requests, and help keep the facility safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

The role requires basic maintenance skills, reliable teamwork, and strong communication in English. This is a full‑time position with opportunities to contribute to a high‑quality living environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of basic plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the community.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from residents and staff.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and general building issues.
• Assist with apartment turnovers in preparation for new residents.
• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the building, grounds, and outdoor spaces.
• Follow safety policies and infection prevention protocols while providing courteous service.

Responsibilities Overview:

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and appearance of our Assisted Living and Memory Care community. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot building systems, complete work orders, and ensure our campus remains safe, functional, and welcoming. This position works closely with all departments to provide exceptional service while supporting resident comfort.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the community.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from resident and staff.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance issues.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, in preparation for new residents.
• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the building, grounds, and outdoor spaces.
• Assist with snow removal, ice control, and other seasonal maintenance responsibilities as needed.
• Follow OSHA regulations, infection prevention protocols, and all community safety policies.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service while interacting with residents, families, visitors, and team members.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of basic plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance experience required.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
• Ability to bend, climb, and occasionally assist residents.
• Adequate hearing and vision.
