Job summary

Oetiker is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and safe working conditions. The role covers pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems with PLCs, requiring strong problem-solving and preventive maintenance on multiple machines.

The position is 1st shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday–Friday) with competitive compensation and opportunities for advancement within a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical school-based training or equivalent with PLC repair experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years in manufacturing repairing PLC-controlled equipment.
• Forklift and scissor lift certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot automation systems, read schematics and manuals.
• Changeover tooling and assist in machine setup on runs.
• Operate metalworking tools and measurement devices for precision work.
• Ensure safe operation and adherence to EEO policies.

Job Description

Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000

Position Summary

Maintains and repairs production equipment on all levels, keeping down time to a minimum. Also provides a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.

Essential Function

• Repairs various mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components (e.g. cylinders, valves, drives, etc.) installed on production machines
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems and or failures of automated equipment and initiates repair
• Adjusts and replaces various electrical sensors used for proper operation of assembly machine
• Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment on special runs to ensure safe reliable operation and makes suggestions for improvement
• Performs machine changeovers and replaces tooling as needed
• Opens/closes facility; startup/shut down equipment
• Uses metal working equipment such as powered hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
• Handles some spill responses and pest control as needed
• Changeover to generator power in emergency situations
• Rigging and moving of machinery as needed
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, drawings and schematics

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of machine operation of pneumatics, ladder logic, basic electrical systems, and operation of PLC equipment required
• Welding and machinery experience a plus
• Forklift and scissor lift certifications required

Education / Experience

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two year Technical school w/ 2 years’ experience repairing PLC controlled equipment OR a minimum of a HSD and 6 years’ experience repairing PLC controlled equipment required
• 3-5 years’ manufacturing industry experience required

This is a 1st shift position from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
