Job summary

Oetiker Group in the United States is seeking an Assembler to join our automotive components team. You will assemble O-rings, clips, plugs and caps using manual, semi-automated and automated processes, following job procedures and safety rules.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and 6–12 months of light manufacturing experience, with familiarity in SAP and Leading2Lean. This is a 2nd shift position (2:00 pm–10:30 pm) with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and attention to detail required.
• Interest in manufacturing and quality control.
• Ability to read and follow simple procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assembles O-rings, clips, shipping plugs & caps into parts per procedure.
• Operates machines according to procedure and safety rules.
• Reads and understands job procedures and checks quality.
• Maintains compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
• Performs leak testing and in-process inspections.
• Trains manufacturing associates as needed.
• Keeps production on schedule and maintains a clean work area.
• Supports maintenance with basic setup and repairs.

Job Description

Assembles automotive quick connectors using manual, semi-automated and fully automated processes by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions

• Assembles O-rings, clips, shipping plugs & caps into parts according to part procedure
• Understands the machine and its functions and operate according to the procedure, following all safety procedures
• Reads and understands job procedure
• Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, as well as company policies
• Conducts leak testing as required by part procedure
• Conducts in-process parts inspection to ensure product quality and completeness
• As designated, trains manufacturing associates in procedures and processes
• Ensures daily production schedule is attained
• Knowledge of Leading2Lean
• Knowledge of SAP
• Maintains a clean and organized work area, in compliance with 5S requirements
• Performs and understands importance of processes in place to ensure machine is running accurately (such as running duds and/or use of gauges)
• Keeps machines running with minimal downtime
• Performs basic repair and setup

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of computers and handheld scanners, as well as excellent attention to detail

Education / Experience

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus 6-12 months related light manufacturing experience required

This is a 2nd shift position. Regular hours are 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
