Job summary

Oetiker Group is seeking a maintenance technician to repair mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems on production equipment. The role requires diagnosing faults, maintaining safe operations, and supporting startup/shutdown activities on a 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Candidates should have PLC repair experience, pneumatics and electrical knowledge, and forklift/scissor lift certifications.

Qualifications

• PLC controlled equipment repair experience required.
• Two-year technical school or equivalent.
• 3–5 years manufacturing experience required.
• Forklift and scissor lift certifications required.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, ladder logic, basic electrical systems, and PLC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in production machines.
• Troubleshoot automated equipment and initiate repairs.
• Adjust and replace electrical sensors for proper operation of assemblies.
• Perform preventive maintenance and onboard improvements.
• Read manuals, drawings, and schematics to guide repairs.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000

Position Summary

Maintains and repairs production equipment on all levels, keeping down time to a minimum. Also provides a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.

Essential Function

• Repairs various mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components (e.g. cylinders, valves, drives, etc.) installed on production machines
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems and or failures of automated equipment and initiates repair
• Adjusts and replaces various electrical sensors used for proper operation of assembly machine
• Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment on special runs to ensure safe reliable operation and makes suggestions for improvement
• Performs machine changeovers and replaces tooling as needed
• Opens/closes facility; startup/shut down equipment
• Uses metal working equipment such as powered hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
• Handles some spill responses and pest control as needed
• Changeover to generator power in emergency situations
• Rigging and moving of machinery as needed
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, drawings and schematics

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of machine operation of pneumatics, ladder logic, basic electrical systems, and operation of PLC equipment required
• Welding and machinery experience a plus
• Forklift and scissor lift certifications required

Education / Experience

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two year Technical school w/ 2 years' experience repairing PLC controlled equipment OR a minimum of a HSD and 6 years' experience repairing PLC controlled equipment required
• 3-5 years' manufacturing industry experience required

This is a 1st shift position from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
