Job summary

Oetiker, a global leader in high-end connecting solutions, is seeking a Machine Operator to operate and/or maintain multiple machines in accordance with all job and safety procedures. This 2nd shift role supports production at our Batavia, NY facility.

You will obtain daily jobs, verify part numbers and lot numbers, complete downtime sheets, inspect parts for quality, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills and basic computer skills are required.
• Attention to detail is essential for quality checks.
• GED or high school diploma is required plus 1 year of light manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains multiple machines following safety procedures.
• Obtains daily jobs from Production Board and confirms job details.
• Verifies part numbers and lot numbers, completes Production Downtime Sheets.
• Inspects parts at each stage to ensure quality.
• Maintains clean and organized work area and records end-of-job data.

Position Summary

Operates and/or maintains multiple machines according to all job and safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Obtains daily jobs from Production Board
• Reads, understands and commits to following all safety procedures when operating the machine
• Completes proper paperwork verifying part numbers and lot numbers
• Completes the Production Downtime Sheets documenting machine issues
• Reads, understands and commits to operating the machine and its functions according to the procedure such as running duds and/or use of gauge
• Keeps machines running with minimal down-time
• Inspects parts through each process to ensure quality
• Enters end of job information into computer daily
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Trains machine operators as needed

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic math skills, basic computer skills and excellent attention to detail

Education / Experience High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 1 years' light manufacturing experience required

Additional Information

This is a 2nd shift position. Regular hours are 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
