Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a reliable maintenance professional to keep our facilities safe and functional. You will perform building maintenance, painting, electrical work, plumbing, and general repairs, ensuring equipment operates smoothly and repairs are completed promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance of building(s), including painting, electrical, and general repairs.
  • Resolves complex maintenance problems. Keeps related records. Completes repair projects and minor remodels.
  • Inspects and services vans, and keeps related records.
  • Maintains and repairs fitness equipment.
  • Reports and resolves building problems.
  • May order maintenance supplies and equipment. Maintains equipment and tools.
  • May coordinate work of contractors, as assigned.
  • May move furniture.

Job Summary

Maintains and repairs building and equipment, including resolving complex maintenance problems.

Expected hours of work: Mon - Fri 7am - 3:30pm

Hiring range: $24.00 - $25.71/hour DOE

Code of Conduct for Applicants

All employees and volunteers are responsible for adhering to abuse prevention policies, maintaining appropriate boundaries, completing required training, reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior, and complying with mandated reporting requirements.

Qualifications
  • Three years or more of related experience in general maintenance work.
  • Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
  • Substantial experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, general building systems and related areas as necessary.
  • May require knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.
  • Ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner, including ability to read labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions.
  • Basic ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to identify and resolve potential safety and security problems.
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
