Job summary

TOWER23 Hotel-San Diego is seeking a Part Time Maintenance Technician to support safety, comfort, and functionality of our luxury beachfront hotel and restaurant operations. You will join a professional team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, pool/spa care, and maintaining logs, with flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Proven property maintenance experience; hotel maintenance preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, organization, and communication.
• Positive, customer-service oriented and dependable.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long shifts.
• Available nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Pool/spa maintenance experience a plus; multilingual a plus.

• Maintain a clean, safe hotel environment for guests and staff.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests with professionalism.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building issues.
• Check pool and spa chemical balance and functionality.
• Maintain logs and checklists; report unusual findings.
• Keep downtime to a minimum by stocking parts.
• Assist during emergencies such as power outages or weather events.
• Keep work areas clean and follow safety protocols.
• Uphold company standards for appearance and service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We're currently seeking a Part Time Maintenance Technician to support the safety, comfort, and functionality of our hotel and restaurant operations.

What You'll Do:

• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming hotel environment for guests and team members
• Perform routine preventative maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house
• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests with professionalism and follow-through
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building issues
• Check pool and spa for chemical balance and functionality
• Maintain logs, complete checklists, and report unusual findings to leadership
• Ensure minimal equipment downtime by keeping key parts stocked and ready
• Assist during emergencies including power outages, floods, or weather-related events
• Keep work areas clean and organized, and ensure safety protocols are followed
• Uphold company standards for appearance, performance, and guest service
• Other duties as assigned by management

What We're Looking For:

• Experience: Proven property maintenance skills; prior hotel maintenance tech experience preferred
• Skills: Strong troubleshooting ability, organizational skills, and clear communication
• Professionalism: Positive attitude, customer service-focused, dependable
• Physical Ability: Able to lift and carry up to to 50 lbs, push/pull carts, stand/walk throughout shift
• Flexibility: Must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Extras: Pool/spa maintenance experience a plus; additional language skills are a plus to communicate with international guests
