Job summary

Carter-Haston in Pensacola, FL is seeking a maintenance technician to help maintain grounds, common areas, and apartment homes while delivering prompt, respectful service to residents.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, repairs across electrical, plumbing, drywall, and appliance systems, and ensuring safety regulations are followed. This full-time on-site role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• One year related experience.
• HVAC/EPA Certification preferred.
• Proficiency with various hand and power tools.
• Experience with appliance, electrical, drywall, and/or plumbing repairs.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including on-call rotations, after hours, and weekends when needed.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of grounds, common areas, and apartment homes; deliver prompt service and treat all residents with respect.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and health/safety policies; update property log; report unsafe activities or incidents.
• Support expense control by fixing rather than replacing when applicable.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy; utilize the Market-Ready Inspection form to ensure market-ready units.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain pool area in the community.
• Complete service requests efficiently.
• Conduct daily property walks; remove litter, debris, and pet waste.
• Responsible for snow/ice removal of community including walkways, sidewalks, and parking lots.
• Assist Service Manager in maintaining shop and supply inventories; communicate needs.
• Deliver consistent excellent customer service that yields guest satisfaction.
