Overview
Maintenance Technician opening with T.G. Lee Dairy. Responsible for the care and maintenance of property and production assets to ensure continuous operation of machinery and equipment in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic systems by completing planned and unplanned maintenance on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operation.
- Diagnose equipment issues, perform repairs, and document maintenance activities; coordinate with operations to minimize impact on production.
- Inspect equipment, identify potential problems, and take appropriate corrective actions to prevent component failures or equipment downtime.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment; adhere to plant safety and food safety standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Formal engineering/maintenance training desired.
- 2 years experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in food and beverage.
- At least 1 year experience with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and HVAC systems.
- At least 1 year experience on equipment including lubrication, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment.
- Professional experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
- Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and independently take corrective action to prevent downtime.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for much of the shift; ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in a wet environment with moderate to high noise levels.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
- Strong teamwork, verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass all pre-employment screens (drug, background and criminal checks).
Schedule
This is a 3rd shift role with a schedule of 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM with rotating weekends off.
