Job description

Job Summary

Kemps Dairy has immediate openings for a skilled plant maintenance technician responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets. The role ensures the continued operation of machinery and equipment across electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic domains through planned and unplanned maintenance of production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems.

Schedule

3-2-2, 12‑hour schedule. Open position: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. Pays 36 hours in week one and 48 hours in week two, averaging 42 hours every two weeks.

Pay

$32+ per hour based on experience.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team
  • Must pass all pre‑employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
  • Minimum two years experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably food and beverage industry
  • Minimum two years technical experience in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, millwright, pipe fitter, electronic, computer‑controlled equipment, PLC and/or HVAC
  • Minimum one year experience with a variety of equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment
  • Basic arithmetic skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and occasionally climb or balance for virtually the entire shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Tolerance to work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volume
  • Can withstand exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals or allergens
  • Willingness to work occasional flexible hours including overtime and weekends
