Job summary

SPM, LLC, owner of Cherokee Manor in Centre, AL, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep residents' spaces safe, comfortable, and well-maintained, delivering quality living experiences they’re proud to call home.

You’ll troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance issues, perform routine maintenance, complete service requests within 24 hours, and collaborate with a team to uphold curb appeal and neighborly service across the community.

Qualifications

• Previous property maintenance experience.
• HVAC certification preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, appliances, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of maintaining the community's interior and exterior conditions.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and appliances.
• Complete service requests within 24 hours.
• Perform routine upkeep and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain curb appeal: debris removal, exterior cleaning, grounds upkeep.
• Rotate on-call duties with the maintenance team.
• Keep inventory of commonly used parts and materials to control costs.
• Collaborate with team members and vendors to serve residents.

What You’ll Do:

• Take ownership of maintaining the physical condition of the community, inside and out.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, electrical issues, plumbing problems, and appliances (stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, disposals, etc.).
• Complete service requests within 24 hours quickly, efficiently, and with care,
• Perform routine upkeep and preventive maintenance to keep everything running smoothly,
• Help maintain excellent curb appeal: remove debris, pressure wash exteriors, maintain grounds, and more.
• Rotate on-call duties with the maintenance team for after-hours and occasional holiday/weekend support.
• Keep inventory of commonly used parts and materials to control maintenance expenditures.
• Collaborate with team members and vendorsand always go the extra mile for residents.

What You’ll Bring:

• Previous property maintenance experience
• HVAC certification (preferred but not required)
