Job summary

SPM, LLC in Cherokee Manor, Centre, AL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our community in top condition and ensure residents live in safe, well-maintained spaces. You will handle repairs, preventive maintenance, and on-call coverage to support a fast-paced property management team.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, strong teamwork, and a commitment to customer service, with opportunities to grow skills and contribute to a long-standing multi-state portfolio.

Qualifications

• Previous property maintenance experience.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, appliances, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Great communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of maintaining the physical condition of the community, inside and out.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, electrical issues, plumbing problems, and appliances.
• Complete service requests within 24 hours quickly, efficiently, and with care.
• Perform routine upkeep and preventive maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.
• Help maintain curb appeal: remove debris, pressure wash exteriors, maintain grounds, and more.
• Rotate on-call duties with the maintenance team for after-hours and occasional holiday/weekend support.
• Keep inventory of commonly used parts and materials to control maintenance expenditures.
• Collaborate with team members and vendors and always go the extra mile for residents.

What You’ll Do:

What You’ll Bring:

• Previous property maintenance experience

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, appliances, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry

• A passion for providing exceptional customer service
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
