Job summary

SPM, LLC – Presbyterian Oaks II & III in Talladega, AL, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our apartment communities in top condition. You will fix and service HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances, handle routine maintenance, and ensure safety and comfort for residents.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of maintaining the property interior and exterior.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances.
• Complete service requests within 24 hours with care.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventive tasks.
• Help maintain curb appeal and grounds; rotate on-call duties.
• Keep inventory of parts to control costs.
• Collaborate with team members and vendors.

As a Maintenance Technician at Presbyterian Oaks II & III, you’ll be at the heart of that mission: ensuring our residents live in well-maintained, comfortable, and safe spaces they’re proud to call home.

What You’ll Do:

• Take ownership of maintaining the physical condition of the community, inside and out.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, electrical issues, plumbing problems, and appliances (stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, disposals, etc.).
• Complete service requests within 24 hours quickly, efficiently, and with care,
• Perform routine upkeep and preventive maintenance to keep everything running smoothly,
• Help maintain excellent curb appeal: remove debris, pressure wash exteriors, maintain grounds, and more.
• Rotate on-call duties with the maintenance team for after-hours and occasional holiday/weekend support.
• Keep inventory of commonly used parts and materials to control maintenance expenditures.
• Collaborate with team members and vendorsand always go the extra mile for residents.

What You’ll Bring:

• Previous property maintenance experience
• HVAC certification (preferred but not required)
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, appliances, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
• Great communication and teamwork skills
• A passion for providing exceptional customer serviceAbility to lift at least 50 pounds
• A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
