Job summary

SPM, LLC in Columbus, GA is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician who takes pride in quality living experiences. You’ll be at the heart of keeping apartments safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for residents to call home.

You’ll troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances, perform preventive maintenance, manage routine upkeep and curb appeal, and collaborate with a team to deliver exceptional service every day.

Qualifications

• Previous property maintenance experience
• HVAC certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, appliances, electrical, plumbing and carpentry
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of maintaining the community’s physical condition, inside and out.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances.
• Complete service requests within 24 hours promptly and carefully.
• Perform routine upkeep and preventive maintenance to keep systems running smoothly.
• Support curb appeal: debris removal, exterior cleaning and grounds care.
• Rotate on-call duties with the team for after-hours coverage.
• Keep inventory of commonly used parts to control costs.
• Collaborate with team members and vendors to serve residents.

What You’ll Do:

• Take ownership of maintaining the physical condition of the community, inside and out.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, electrical issues, plumbing problems, and appliances (stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, disposals, etc.).
• Complete service requests within 24 hours quickly, efficiently, and with care,
• Perform routine upkeep and preventive maintenance to keep everything running smoothly,
• Help maintain excellent curb appeal: remove debris, pressure wash exteriors, maintain grounds, and more.
• Rotate on-call duties with the maintenance team for after-hours and occasional holiday/weekend support.
• Keep inventory of commonly used parts and materials to control maintenance expenditures.
• Collaborate with team members and vendorsand always go the extra mile for residents.

What You’ll Bring:

• Previous property maintenance experience
• HVAC certification (preferred but not required)
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, appliances, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
