Job summary

Maxus Properties, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time, on-site position in North Kansas City, MO.

You will perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components, process work orders, troubleshoot issues, and prepare units for move-in. You will respond to emergency maintenance requests, ensure safety and code compliance, maintain tools and equipment, and collaborate with property management and vendors

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on residential property systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety practices, building codes, and proper use of tools, PPE.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills for handling multiple work orders and deadlines.
• Effective communication and customer service skills for residents, team members, and vendors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; reliable for after-hours or on-call needs.
• Physical ability to lift, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
• Preferred: multifamily or residential property maintenance experience; HVAC/electrical certifications are a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license may be required.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Technician role located in North Kansas City, MO. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components. Daily tasks include completing work orders, troubleshooting and repairing apartment and common-area issues, conducting inspections, and preparing units for move-in through make-ready repairs. The role also involves responding to emergency maintenance requests, ensuring safety and code compliance, maintaining tools and equipment, and collaborating with property management and vendor partners. The Maintenance Technician supports a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for residents and contributes to the overall curb appeal and operational integrity of the property.
