Job summary

Janotta & Herner - Design/Build General Contractor is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support daily maintenance and operation of our fabrication shop. This first-shift, hands-on role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining shop equipment and tools to keep operations safe and efficient.

The successful candidate will work under the Shop Supervisor in a manufacturing facility with modern machinery. Welding, diesel engine work, and experience with torches are valued assets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with industrial or fabrication equipment preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with gas and diesel engines; ability to operate material-handling equipment safely.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on shop equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electric and pneumatic hand tools.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on gas and diesel engines.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is to support the day-to-day maintenance and operation of our fabrication shop. This is a hands-on, first-shift position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining shop equipment and tools to help keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and compressed air systems on shop equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electric and pneumatic hand tools
• Perform maintenance and repairs on gas and diesel engines
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material-handling equipment
• Operate and assist with maintaining fabrication equipment
• Use plasma torches and oxygen/acetylene torches
• Perform general preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
• Assist with other shop and facility maintenance needs as necessary

Working Conditions

The primary work location will be within a manufacturing facility equipped with modern machinery and tools. The facility is designed to provide a controlled environment for welding operations. General start and stop times vary depending on the project, but normally range from 6:00am-4:30pm, normally working four (4)-10 hour days.
