Job summary

The Maintenance Technician position at Firelands Fabrication, a division of JHI Group, supports day-to-day maintenance in our fabrication shop in New London, OH. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain shop equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations on first shift.

This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial equipment, and the ability to operate material-handling gear. Welding exposure is a plus, and independence with safety-minded work is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with industrial or fabrication equipment preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with gas and diesel engines.
• Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
• Experience with plasma and oxygen/acetylene torches.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Division: Firelands Fabrication

Reports to: Shop Supervisor

FLSA: Hourly

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is to support the day-to-day maintenance and operation of our fabrication shop. This is a hands-on, first-shift position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining shop equipment and tools to help keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and compressed air systems on shop equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electric and pneumatic hand tools
• Perform maintenance and repairs on gas and diesel engines

Working Conditions

The primary work location will be within a manufacturing facility equipped with modern machinery and tools. The facility is designed to provide a controlled environment for welding operations. General start and stop times vary depending on the project, but normally range from 6:00am-4:30pm, normally working four (4)-10 hour days.
