Job summary

The Maintenance Technician position at Firelands Fabrication, a division of JHI Group, supports day-to-day maintenance in our fabrication shop in New London, OH. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain shop equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations on first shift.

This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial equipment, and the ability to operate material-handling gear. Welding exposure is a plus, and independence with safety-minded work is essential.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with industrial or fabrication equipment preferred.
Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Experience with gas and diesel engines.
Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
Experience with plasma and oxygen/acetylene torches.
Welding experience is a plus.
Dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and compressed air systems on shop equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electric and pneumatic hand tools.
Perform maintenance and repairs on gas and diesel engines.
Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material-handling equipment.
Operate and assist with maintaining fabrication equipment.
Use plasma torches and oxygen/acetylene torches.
Perform general preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.
Assist with other shop and facility maintenance needs as necessary.
