Job summary

Steel & O'Brien Manufacturing in Ohio seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep our manufacturing plant running safely and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you’ll maintain production equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, and support building systems with the production team to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and hands-on experience with CNC machines, mills, lathes, or lasers, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and repairs.
• Maintain production equipment including CNC machines, lathes, mills, lasers, and welders.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues; repair or replace parts.
• Handle general facility maintenance including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural upkeep.
• Use hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment.
• Work with production teams to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
• Follow safety regulations and keep work areas clean and orderly.

Maintenance Technician

Help keep our manufacturing plant running safely and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you’ll maintain production equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, and support building systems. You’ll work with the production team to reduce downtime and solve problems as they arise.

What you’ll do

• Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and scheduled and unscheduled emergency repairs.
• Maintain and repair production equipment, including CNC machines, lathes, mills, lasers, and welders.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues; repair or replace parts, test equipment, and make adjustments.
• Handle general facility maintenance involving HVAC, electrical components, plumbing, and structural upkeep.
• Use hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment.
• Work with production teams to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
• Follow safety regulations, keep work areas clean and orderly, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience with mill, lathe, and laser equipment.
• CNC maintenance experience and a machine maintenance background preferred.
• Relevant prior maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems.
• Trustworthy and safety-oriented.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Work environment

This is a fast-paced manufacturing environment that requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. The role may involve noise, varying temperatures, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
