Job summary

Capital Vacations, a beachfront resort operator in Atlantic Beach, NC, seeks experienced maintenance technicians to join our crew. You will perform skilled work to keep appliances, mechanical equipment, and buildings in repair, with duties spanning painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC maintenance, and electrical repairs.

Weekend shifts and varied start times are required. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting, safety compliance, and the ability to interact well with team members and guests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Min 3 years of management experience in hotel/resort operations.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• General upkeep and minor repairs to keep units in like-new condition.
• Exterior painting and repairs to parking lot, poolside area, buildings, and walkways.
• Preventative maintenance of equipment used by staff and maintenance teams.
• Organize and keep an inventory of stocked replacement items.
• Re-keys, repairs to door locks, and electrical repairs as needed.
• Performs other duties as required, installs or replaces components.
• Participate in all required health and OSHA safety meetings/classes.

Beachfront resort on Atlantic Beach seeks experienced technicians to join our crew and help maintain and upkeep resort-managed condominium units and resort facilities. Maintenance Technicians must perform skilled work to keep appliances, mechanical equipment, or the structure of our buildings in repair. Duties may involve painting, carpentry, light plumbing, HVAC maintenance, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. Weekend work is required. Shifts can vary from 8 am start to 9pm end.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• General upkeep, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs as needed to keep units in a like new working condition, include but are not limited to plumbing, painting, tiling, electrical, carpentry, and furnishings replacement.
• Exterior painting and repairs as needed to the parking lot, poolside area, buildings, and walkways.
• Preventative maintenance of equipment used by landscapers, housekeeping, and maintenance.
• Organize and keep an inventory of stocked replacement items.
• Re-keys replace and repair door locks as required.
• Repairs or replaces stove burners as needed.
• Replaces switches, plugs, circuit breakers, light fixtures, light bulbs and heating and air conditioning filters, and fan belts on motors when needed.
• Provides minor repairs to door and gate hinges.
• Oils and lubricates motors as needed.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Participate in all required health and safety meetings/classes.
• Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
• Follow all rules and regulations set forth in the latest employee handbook.
• Assist with any special projects as assigned by Supervisor.
• Ability to accept constructive criticism and understand/follow posted work rules and procedures.
• Has the ability to follow directions from a supervisor and interact well with co-workers, subordinates, and supervisors.
• Participates in all required health and OSHA safety meetings/classes.
• Performs any other various duties that may be assigned by General Manager, Assistant Manager, Front Desk Supervisor, or VRI Director of Resorts.

Job Requirements

Education, Essential Training / Certifications, and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum 3 years of management experience in hotel/resort operations, preferably in vacation ownership
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with guests, Team Members, and the general public
• Good work ethic
• Knowledge of daily operations of the front desk, reservations, and problem resolution
• AS400/TSW experience preferred
• Ability to supervise, train and mentor Team Members
• Ability to analyze customer needs and assist in resolving all customer challenges and stressful situations
• Knowledge of Vacation Ownership is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple functions and multitask
• Flexible schedule, ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
