Job summary

Little Leaf Farms seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems, and HVAC across the facility. The role includes fabricating parts, lubricating equipment, and performing required preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities include setting up production equipment at shift start, replacing belts and cables, and following GMP/HACCP standards to ensure food safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred Associate degree in Electrical/Mechanical or equivalent.
  • 2+ years apprenticeship or related experience in Electrical or Mechanical field.
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls; robotics experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of 3-phase electricity and schematic/blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems, and HVAC within the facility.
  • Set up production equipment at shift start and switch equipment as inventory dictates.
  • Replace worn conveyor belts, cables, and rollers.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance per schedule and follow GMP/HACCP guidelines.
  • Adhere to Lock Out Tag Out procedures and diagnose electrical faults with meters.
  • Carry out basic fabrication, welding, and metalworking as needed.
  • Operate automation and control systems and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical issues.
  • Report safety, quality, and equipment concerns to management promptly.

Job description

Description

The purpose of this position is to install, maintain, and repair all machinery, electrical systems, and HVAC within the facility. Fabricates replacement parts for machinery when needed and lubricates machinery, changes parts, and performs other routine machinery maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works from written SOPs with little or no help. (screw bearing replacement)
  • Sets up production equipment at the start of the shift and changes equipment depending on inventory demand.
  • Replaces worn conveyor belts, cables, and rollers.
  • Does daily preventive maintenance tasks and follows the preventive maintenance schedule (belt alignments, condenser cleanings, and Agrinomix PM's).
  • Works using Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
  • Replaces pistons, air lines, and air fittings in pneumatic systems.
  • Performs basic fabrication and metal working, such as cutting, grinding, and simple fabrication.
  • Operates Green Automation system.
  • Reset electrical breakers, overloads, and diagnoses blown fuses with Multimeter.
  • Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
  • Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Electrical or Mechanical field.
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic Input/Output functions.
  • Experience with robotic operation/ maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical and general construction/carpentry.
  • Basic understanding of 3-phase electricity.
  • Ability to maintain various pumps (positive pressure, centrifugal, etc.).
  • Ability to structurally weld varying common metals.
  • Working knowledge of motor controllers, low voltage electrical systems, proximity switches, photo-eyes, and variable frequency drives.
  • Basic understanding of schematics and blueprints.
  • Basic understanding of various diagnostic equipment including, but not limited to, ohms meters, voltage meters, etc.
  • Thoroughly understand and follow all OSHA and Company regulations as they relate to the maintenance field (LOTO, CSE, PPE, etc.).
  • Highly knowledgeable with hand and power tools.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness.
