Job summary

Little Leaf Farms in Tennessee is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, electrical systems and HVAC within the facility. You will fabricate replacement parts when needed and keep equipment running smoothly to support continuous production.

The role requires a high school diploma and preferred associate degree with 2+ years of related experience. Candidates should be familiar with conveyors, robotics, pneumatics, welding and safety

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems, and HVAC within the facility.
  • Set up production equipment at shift start and adjust equipment to meet inventory demand.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance and follow the scheduled PM tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose using test equipment including multimeter.
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures and safety guidelines (GMP/HACCP).
  • Fabricate replacement parts and perform basic metal fabrication as needed.

Job description

Description

The purpose of this position is to install, maintain, and repair all machinery, electrical systems, and HVAC within the facility. Fabricates replacement parts for machinery when needed and lubricates machinery, changes parts, and performs other routine machinery maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works from written SOPs with little or no help. (screw bearing replacement)
  • Sets up production equipment at the start of the shift and changes equipment depending on inventory demand.
  • Replaces worn conveyor belts, cables, and rollers.
  • Does daily preventive maintenance tasks and follows the preventive maintenance schedule (belt alignments, condenser cleanings, and Agrinomix PM’s).
  • Works using Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
  • Replaces pistons, air lines, and air fittings in pneumatic systems.
  • Performs basic fabrication and metal working, such as cutting, grinding, and simple fabrication.
  • Operates Green Automation system.
  • Resets electrical breakers, overloads, and diagnoses blown fuses with Multimeter.
  • Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
  • Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Electrical or Mechanical field.
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic Input/Output functions.
  • Experience with robotic operation/ maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical and general construction/carpentry.
  • Basic understanding of 3-phase electricity.
  • Ability to maintain various pumps (positive pressure, centrifugal, etc.).
  • Ability to structurally weld varying common metals.
  • Working knowledge of motor controllers, low voltage electrical systems, proximity switches, photo-eyes, and variable frequency drives.
  • Basic understanding of schematics and blueprints.
  • Basic understanding of various diagnostic equipment including, but not limited to, ohms meters, voltage meters, etc.
  • Thoroughly understand and follow all OSHA and Company regulations as they relate to the maintenance field (LOTO, CSE, PPE, etc.).
  • Highly knowledgeable with hand and power tools.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness.
