Job summary

Medline Industries, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician responsible for set up, adjustment, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyors, automation, robotics and related equipment.

You will ensure accurate records, support production quality, and prepare equipment for operation. The role requires 3 years of experience with conveyors/automation/robotics, basic Excel skills, and the ability to travel up to 10% for business needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.
  • Basic Excel skills.
  • Experience with inputs/outputs and PLC logic systems.
  • Travel up to 10% for business purposes (within/state/out-of-state).
  • Must be able to stand 8–12 hours and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Willing to learn new skills and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on conveyors, automation, robotics and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot out-of-service equipment and escalate to leadership when needed.
  • Document work in CMMS and maintain logs for facility systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist mechanics on two-person tasks and during peak operations.
  • Carry out facility and building project work as assigned.
  • Assemble and test equipment, analyze production delays and verify corrective actions.

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics and ancillary equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting of assigned out of service equipment and correct issues, act as an escalation point for lower level technicians, and elevate to leadership and/or more senior technicians as needed.
  • Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems asappropriate and maintain accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems that are tested on a routine basis.
  • Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics in work that requires two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Perform facility/building project work as assigned. Tasks include, but are not limited to, light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs and maintaining operation logs.
  • Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production. Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions. Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes and, where possible, take corrective action and verify the corrective action has eliminated the problems.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Certification / Licensure:
  • None
Work Experience:
  • 3 year of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment
  • Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and ability to troubleshoot these systems
  • Willing to travel at least/up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • Physical Abilities:
  • Frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and may have to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week.
