Job summary

Medline is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot and repair conveyors, automation, robotics and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect systems, document work in CMMS, and provide root cause analysis for downtime events.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with PLC logic. Travel up to 10% may be required across facilities in Texas and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3 years of experience with conveyor, automation or robotics equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.
  • Proficient in Excel and CMMS documentation.
  • Experience with inputs/outputs and PLC logic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on conveyors, automation, robotics and ancillary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair out of service equipment; escalate to leadership or senior technicians as needed.
  • Document all work in CMMS and maintain accurate records for facility systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist maintenance staff on two-person tasks or when required.
  • Coordinate facility projects and test equipment for production readiness.
  • Analyze defects and spoilage, implement corrective actions and verify effectiveness.

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics and ancillary equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting of assigned out of service equipment and correct issues, act as an escalation point for lower level technicians, and elevate to leadership and/or more senior technicians as needed.
  • Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems as appropriate and maintain accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems that are tested on a routine basis.
  • Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics in work that requires two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Perform facility/building project work as assigned. Tasks include, but are not limited to, light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs and maintaining operation logs.
  • Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production. Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions.
  • Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes and, where possible, take corrective action and verify the corrective action has eliminated the problems.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Certification / Licensure:
  • None
Work Experience:
  • 3 year of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment
  • Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and ability to troubleshoot these systems
  • Willing to travel at least/up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Physical Abilities:
  • Frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and may have to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week.
  • Must be willing to learn new equipment as it is brought on-line.
  • Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights and/or from a ladder, work from a lying down position, work with your hands above your head.
  • Willing to operate material handling equipment (i.e. fork truck).
  • Write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers
  • Read information, often in small print (drawings)
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc. and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment, and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
  • Willing to travel at least/up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a building maintenance position servicing a facility larger than 75,000 square feet.
  • Physical activities necessary to perform one or more essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, lift for extended periods daily
  • Frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and may have to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
