Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Lancaster, SC for direct hire. The role offers $33.00–$34.00 per hour with a Sunday–Thursday night schedule (11:15 PM–7:15 AM). You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment to maximize uptime in a GMP-regulated environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in industrial maintenance, PLC/automation experience, and strong problem-solving skills. Training and safety compliance are emphasized as part of the daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical degree, vocational certification, or formal training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and SOPs.
• Knowledge of cGMP requirements, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair to maximize uptime and production efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems up to 480V, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, relays, and automation controls.
• Conduct preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and automated machinery.
• Complete equipment setups, changeovers, installations, upgrades, and process improvements while maintaining compliance with cGMP standards and SOPs.
• Utilize root cause analysis to identify failures, implement corrective actions, and improve equipment reliability.
• Accurately document maintenance activities, work orders, repairs, inspections, and inventory transactions within the CMMS system.
• Support maintenance team training, collaborate with production and engineering teams, and ensure compliance with safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements.

• Experience performing preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced troubleshooting skills involving PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and industrial automation systems.
• Experience with Allen‑Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, welding, facility maintenance, and equipment installation.
• Strong root cause analysis (RCA), problem‑solving, and continuous improvement experience.
• Ability to mentor junior technicians and effectively communicate across departments.
• Experience using CMMS software for work orders, maintenance tracking, and documentation.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of 8 hours or more.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, squat, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and material handling devices.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with production equipment and machinery.
