Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Columbia, SC. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, with strong mechanical/electrical skills and the ability to read blueprints. Must provide own tools and be able to lift up to 100 pounds in an active industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school or skilled trades training preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Must provide own mechanic's tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in an active industrial environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems ranging from 24VDC controls to 480VAC three-phase equipment
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance schedules with production leaders.
  • Assist with installing, relocating, and upgrading machinery and plant equipment.
  • Maintain facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, lighting, and grounds maintenance.
  • Support safety initiatives, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space requirements, and emergency lighting inspections.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and repair materials.
  • Document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
