Staffmark is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Gretna, LA. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to keep production lines running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps, valves, VFDs, fans, and production equipment.
• Install and replace electrical and mechanical components.
• Complete preventive maintenance and sanitation work orders.
• Read blueprints, electrical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Document repairs, parts usage, and maintenance activities in SAP/ERP.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Follow GMP, food safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Operate forklifts, lifts, and other maintenance equipment.

Location: Gretna, LA
Pay Rate: $29.70 per hour
Schedule: Various shifts 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, vocational training, or industrial maintenance certification preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Previous industrial maintenance experience preferred
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
• Familiarity with SAP, ERP systems, or computerized maintenance systems is a plus

Job Duties

• Troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps, valves, VFDs, fans, and production equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related technical environment is preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance programs and responding to equipment breakdowns is beneficial.
• Knowledge of PLCs, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or fabrication is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Maintenance Technician.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in a variety of industrial environments throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift equipment, tools, and replacement parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely work around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
• Manual dexterity to operate tools, perform repairs, and inspect equipment.
