Job summary

Brookside Properties in Huntsville, AL is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance in our apartment community. You will handle service requests, turn units, and diagnose HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance issues to keep units ready for occupancy.

The ideal candidate has HVAC experience, EPA certification, and strong customer service skills, plus reliable transportation and on-call availability. Join a team focused on safety and growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous maintenance experience required (apartment or multifamily preferred).
• HVAC experience required.
• EPA Type II or Universal certification preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation.
• Must have basic maintenance tools and reliable transportation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests/work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs in apartment homes.
• Prepare vacant units for move-in (make-readies / apartment turns).
• Diagnose and repair: HVAC systems, Electrical, Plumbing, Appliances, Carpentry and drywall.
• Maintain community grounds, amenities, and common areas.
• Participate in after-hours emergency on-call rotation.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and supplies.
• Follow safety, OSHA, and Fair Housing guidelines.
