Job summary

Brookside Properties is hiring an Apartment Maintenance Technician for Indigo at Grissom in Huntsville, AL. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to service requests, and prepare units for turnover while ensuring safety and quality across the community.

The role requires HVAC experience and basic maintenance skills; on-call rotations and teamwork are expected. Competitive hourly pay with benefits supports long-term growth in a stable, resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Maintenance experience required (multifamily/apartment preferred).
• HVAC experience required with EPA/AC certification preferred.
• EPA Type II or Universal certification preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general apartment repairs.
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in (make-readies).
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, and drywall.
• Maintain grounds, amenities, and common areas; participate in on-call rotation.
• Maintain inventory and tools; follow OSHA safety standards and Fair Housing regulations.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and work orders in a timely, professional manner
• Perform preventive maintenance and general apartment repairs
• Prepare vacant apartment homes for move-in readiness (make-readies / apartment turns)
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair:
  • HVAC systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Electrical issues
  • Appliances
  • Carpentry and drywall repairs
• Maintain community grounds, amenities, and common areas
• Participate in after-hours emergency on-call rotation
• Maintain maintenance inventory, tools, and suppliesFollow all OSHA safety standards and Fair Housing regulations
