Job summary

Rinker Materials is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our COMO, MS plant. The role involves routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with team members for efficient operations.

Ideal candidates will have a technical degree or equivalent experience, along with skills in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and more. A valid driver’s license is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Repair or replace faulty components like motors, switches, and valves.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
  • Ensure safety while working on tall structures using a manlift.

Job description

We are looking for a MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN to join our COMO, MS plant. As a Maintenance Technician with Rinker Materials, you will contribute to one of the nation's largest manufacturers of reinforced concrete pipe, box, bridge, and other related infrastructure products for stormwater and sanitary applications.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems.
  • Conduct inspections to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, switches, and valves.
  • Fabricate parts or components as needed.
  • Install, maintain, and repair low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and ensure efficient operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and resolving maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Position does require working on tall structures using a manlift, climbing ladders, and the use of safety harnesses.
Qualifications
  • Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience. One plus years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Working knowledge of large machine operation and construction of infrastructure.
  • Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, and electronics.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions and to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
  • General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
  • Ability to read and apply information from plans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals; diagnostic problem‑solving techniques; detail orientation.
  • Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
