Job summary

Rinker Materials in Houston, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our plant team. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, diagnose issues, and ensure safe, efficient operations in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have a business/technical degree or equivalent experience, plus hands-on skills in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • One plus years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure.
  • Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
  • Ability to provide clear verbal instructions and listen to understand points made by others.
  • General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
  • Ability to read and apply information from plans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals; diagnostic problem solving techniques; detail orientation.
  • Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems.
  • Conduct inspections to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problem.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, switches, and valves.
  • Fabricate parts or components as needed.
  • Install, maintain, and repair low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and ensure efficient operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and resolving maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Position does require working on tall structures using a manlift, climbing ladders and the use of safety harnesses.
