Job summary

White Lodging is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to join our hotel engineering team in Charlotte, NC. You will help maintain the property's appearance, functionality, and safety to meet White Lodging, Brand, and Guest standards.

This role is a 3rd shift position (11pm–7:30am) with Sundays and Mondays off. Bring at least one year of maintenance experience and skills in carpentry, plumbing, and painting to support operations.

Qualifications

• At least one year of maintenance experience required.
• Ability to perform carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
• Lift up to 25 lbs regularly and stand for long periods.
• 3rd shift: 11pm–7:30am, Sundays and Mondays off.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the hotel’s maintenance standards meet WL, Brand, and Guest standards.
• Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing all engineering functions.
• Clean engineering areas and maintain efficient operations.
• Perform tasks safely and communicate with supervisors about tools and materials.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs; maintain spare parts and bulbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Please note we are hiring this as a 3rd shift position with shifts from 11pm to 7:30 am, currently with Sunday and Monday nights off.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure the hotel’s maintenance and upkeep standards meet WL, Brand, and Guest standards.
• Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing and supervising all aspects of the Engineering function of the hotel.
• Clean all engineering areas as directed, working in a neat and efficient manner to help maintain effective operations.
• Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner while maintaining communication with supervisors regarding tools, supplies, and materials.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation and maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Ability to perform general carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties and operate hand and power tools.
• Basic working knowledge of general maintenance with a desire to continue developing in a trade area (e.g., electrical, carpentry).
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. occasionally, and ability to stand and move for long periods of time.
• At least one year of maintenance experience required.
