Job summary

White Lodging is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to support the hotel engineering team in Austin. You will help maintain the property's appearance, functionality, and safety to meet White Lodging, Brand, and Guest standards.

Responsibilities include overseeing engineering operations with the Chief Engineer, cleaning engineering areas, and ensuring fixtures and lights operate correctly. The role requires hands-on maintenance skills and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• At least one year of maintenance experience is required.
• Ability to perform general carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties and operate hand and power tools.
• Basic working knowledge of general maintenance, lock out tag out procedures, and a desire to continue developing in a trade area such as electrical or carpentry.

What You'll Do

• Clean all engineering areas as directed, working in a neat and efficient manner to help maintain effective operations.
• Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner while maintaining communication with supervisors regarding tools, supplies, and materials.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation and maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Ability to perform general carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties and operate hand and power tools.
• Basic working knowledge of general maintenance, lock out tag out procedures, along with a desire to continue developing in a trade area (e.g., electrical, carpentry).
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. occasionally, and ability to stand and move for long periods of time.
• At least one year of maintenance experience required.
