Our plant is unique in that we have two product platforms: flour and dry mixes. The flour we produce is integrated into our Betty Crocker mixes (cookies, brownies, muffins, pizza crust, biscuits). We are a small plant with a great culture where you will get to know the people you work with. Fun facts about Avon are that we produce an average of 1.1 million pounds of flour a day and about 100 million Betty Crocker pouches a year. When making our chocolate chip cookie mix, around 2000 pounds of chocolate is added per hour to the packaging line!What We Have to OfferPay Rate: $33.68 per hourAdditional $.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shiftPremium pay opportunities, including overtime after 8 hours (1.5x), Saturday hours (1.5x), and Sunday hours (2x/double time)Great paid time off benefits (includes vacation, sick time and holidays)401(k) with company matchPensionBonus Incentive ProgramHealth Insurance (includes medical, dental, vision and life)Career growth and cross-training opportunitiesYour Work Schedule and Shift Information8-hour shifts2nd shift: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm3rd shift: 11:00 pm to 7:00 amCurrently hiring for 2nd shift and/or 3rd shift dependent upon business needTraining will be on 1st shift (7 am to 3 pm) for up to 6 months (possibly sooner, dependent upon training needs) and then transfer to assigned shiftAbility and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, holidays, an occasional Saturday and/or Sunday, including 4 hours prior to or over scheduled shift, when business need dictatesPlant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESAs part of our manufacturing team, you will:Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment to improve reliability and operational performanceUnderstand and follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environmentInstall, maintain, repair, and replace industrial processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipmentIdentify/diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, electrical and/or electronic issuesManage work orders, parts requisition, and data entry through understanding and use of Maximo Maintenance Management SystemProvide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modificationUnderstand, initiate, and participate in Root Cause Analysis (Why, Why)Perform both uptime and down time preventative maintenanceEffectively communicate and productively interact with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors, vendors, visitors, etc.Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performanceAssist in training new employeesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GEDMust possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English)1 to 2 years (minimum) of experience industrial maintenance or related industry experienceWorking knowledge of PLC’s, HVAC systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systemsAbility to work independently and as a team with flexibility to quickly shift work prioritiesAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periodsWillingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditionsAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platformsAbility to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standardsAbility to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required)Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergensPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in repairing and troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems, reading schematics and using electrical testing equipment strongly preferredBasic shop equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, presses, etc.) preferredExperience in a manufacturing/production environment preferredELIGIBILITYApplicants must meet a minimum 18-year age qualification.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER (EOE)General Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
